Dr. Joyce Varkey is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 14 years of diverse clinical and surgical experience. Her specialties include cataract surgery, eyelid procedures, and the management of glaucoma and retina conditions, allowing her to provide comprehensive treatment for a wide range of eye health needs.
Dr. Varkey is also fluent in Malayalam and Spanish, making her an accessible and trusted provider for our diverse patient community.

Dr. Varkey’s approach to patient care is deeply rooted in a personal mission of service and a passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. This dedication is evident in her mission work serving communities in need and her enthusiasm for learning new languages and cultures, including her fluency in Malayalam and Spanish. She believes that understanding a patient's background is key to providing truly compassionate care. Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys free time with family and friends, as well as doing mission work and serving the poor. She enjoys cultural dance and has performed for cultural and church events.
Whether I’m on a mission trip or seeing patients in our North Jersey Ophthalmology practice, my philosophy remains the same: every person deserves access to excellent, compassionate eye care. The need for clear vision is a universal human experience. It’s a privilege to use my skills to serve others, and I bring that same sense of purpose and dedication to every single patient I treat.
